Palestina

de los acuerdos de Oslo al apartheid

Abu-Tarbush, José
Barreñada, Isaías

On September 13, 1993, the Declaration of Principles between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Israel, known more generically as the Oslo Accords, was signed. Three decades later, the human and political situation in the Palestinian territories is considerably worse than before. Far from the expectations raised then, the occupation has been expanded, Palestinian dependence on Israel has been reinforced and the possibility of a viable Palestinian state has been eliminated. Despite the progress of the question of Palestine in the international sphere, there is no significant international initiative or commitment that effectively advocates for its defense. On the contrary, there is a palpable abandonment of political and diplomatic efforts in this direction among the great world and regional powers, and even Arab states. None of this excuses Israel's exceptionality as an expression of an archaic, illegal and immoral settler colonialism and apartheid regime. Passivity or neutrality are nothing more than expressions of complicity in situations of injustice.
