Palacio mental
Contré, Guillaume
It all starts with a locked room, an unexplained murder and a nameless detective (his role is everything). He is accompanied by his assistant, the enthusiastic Silbano, and Corporal Gutiérrez, who stays at the entrance so that no one comes to disturb the work of the investigators. There is also a corpse, of course, which is perhaps not as dead as it seems. There is also a series of objects, those of the detective (a pipe, a magnifying glass), and others, forceful, that could be (or not) the weapons of the crime. But the issue is not solving the enigma. Whodunit? it's not what counts. It is about exhaustively exploring the detective's mental palace, full of dead ends. All this in a single paragraph, in which the tension builds and the cadence gradually increases, until, finally, the story shakes like a cocktail shaker.
