una historia familiar de libros, guerra, huida y exilio
Wolff, Alexander
I spent a year in Berlin exploring the lives of my grandfather and father: Kurt Wolff, dubbed "perhaps the most demanding editor of the 20th century" by The New York Times Book Review, and his son Niko, who fought in the Wehrmacht during the World War II before coming to America. Drawing on never-before-published family letters, photographs, and diaries, Pages Back Home chronicles the journeys of these two German-born men who became American citizens, as well as my opportunity to tell an intimate family story; a network of the dangers, triumphs and secrets of history and exile, with resonances today.
