Otro fin del mundo es posible

During the most uncertain moments of the past year, Alejandro Gaviria struck up a peculiar conversation with the English philosopher Aldous Huxley. True to his idea that "reading is an act of creation", he returned to the works of this author, who he considers essential, and a true thinker of the present. From that synchronous meeting came the eight chapters that make up this book, in which the ideas of one and the other are intertwined on current issues and problems such as life, health and medicine, drugs and their prohibition, education, the crisis environmental and progress. Gaviria, rector of the Universidad de los Andes and Minister of Health of Colombia for six years, gives an account of his conclusions about how reduced our perception of time and emotions is in everyday life. Another end of the world is possible is a work that claims optimism, kindness and learning as a way of life, invites us to celebrate the human experience and not give up the idea that the future is bright if we dedicate ourselves to the present.
