Otra política es posible

All the experiences that I have lived since I entered politics in 2015, as a congressman, regional deputy and mayor, invite me to think that there is another way to exercise political responsibility. It is possible to avoid polarization and tension, and also obtain the trust of citizens as a reward. We have become used to demonizing the adversary, extreme positions and the denial of those who do not think like us. This book is an essay that defends the opposite: putting yourself in the shoes of others to try to reach points of agreement. For me, empathy is a fundamental characteristic of any politician. If we look back, we will see that it is a starting point from which to do politics that many leaders of our country have practiced, although while they exercised it they suffered the misunderstanding of their own and the persecution of their adversaries. Of course, citizenship was recognized in them. There is another way of doing politics, and its defense is what the reader will find in these pages.
