Is a critical, dissident and transforming view of masculinity possible from male privilege? This and other issues, key to the egalitarian challenge, are intended to be unraveled throughout this work. The hegemonic experience of being a man and its consequences, a legitimate focus of questioning for feminism, has so far been hardly questioned by male patriarchal thought. The author investigates through these essays in this reality of lack of honest male self-criticism, connecting two complementary approaches: the development of the theoretical framework and the biographical and experiential evidence. ONVRES is a journey from a sex-gender perspective to the hidden and incontestable reality of macho, misogynistic, patriarchal and violent masculinity, both in personal and daily experience, as well as in the historical, social and political context.
