Objetivo: invadir España
los planes aliados y del Eje para tomar la península durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial
Cuevas, Pablo
First the British and then the Germans prepared different military operations, both offensive and defensive, in the Iberian Peninsula. Although the main objectives were the Spanish and Portuguese archipelagos, and, above all, Gibraltar. German planning included its best officers and elite troops, who actually did make it into the country. Invited to banquets, meetings and to witness bullfights, they also carried out more discreet reconnaissance missions around the Rock. Leading the operations would be important generals like Walter von Reichenau or Friedrich Paulus. On the Allied side, the planners and troops involved were not so numerous, although there were several Highlander battalions and commanders as relevant as Eisenhower or Patton, who intervened in modifying the possible takeover of the Spanish protectorate of Morocco.
