The issue of love starts in Western culture from classical times and follows a long trail that runs through the Renaissance with its new concept of women, inherited from Petrarch, until it reaches Romanticism, whose legacy is still valid. That same conception of romantic love, although with nuances, still prevails in today's young poets. News from the other side revolves around it, where the love issue, contaminated in its images of modernity, continues to prove its validity. Throughout thirty-seven poems, written between 2017 and 2022, with apparently simple but profound verses, Lorenzo Rodríguez Garrido illuminates the reader on the other side of this vital passion.
