She lives with her family, works at the local school, and loves walking on the beach and meeting new dogs. But in reality she Nona is not like the others. Six months ago she woke up in the body of a stranger and she fears being forced to return it. The city is falling apart. A monstrous blue sphere floats on the horizon, ready to destroy the planet. The Blood of Eden troops have surrounded the last of the Retinue facilities and wait for the Undying Emperor to come for his own. The leaders of the terrorist group want to turn Nona into the weapon that will save them from the Nine Houses.
