Nocturnas

Nocturnas

historias vampíricas

Pedraza, Pilar

Night time. Vampiric Stories brings together fifteen stories that confront us with the tragedy and doom dragged by the undead marked by their plight. All of them starring "nocturnal" women, these stories propose different interpretations of vampirism, from the most classic version to the symbolic sublimation of the universal myth. Thus, the reader will find in this volume stories such as "El dhampiro", where a gypsy vampire hunter is forced to "redeem" his own wife and cousin; "Rubí, la gulí", which narrates the appearance of a hidden ghoul in an archaeological excavation of a cathedral; "Madame guillotine, fantasy in three acts", dedicated to Alexandre Dumas, which describes the execution and postmortem vicissitudes of a feminist guillotined by the French Revolution; "The Vojvodina Hostage", where we will learn about the sad fate of a transylvanian maiden captive in the harem of an Ottoman sultan and how she took revenge on him; or "Poor zombies", in which Pedraza tells us in a casual way the fortuitous encounter of the protagonist with a gouli in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.
