No quiero olvidar todo lo que sé
Balló, Tània
In her third book on the Sinsombrero, Tània Balló will explore the personal struggle and professional sacrifice that exile meant for this group of artists. The author proposes a different approach to that forced exile about which so much has been written, but almost always from a male perspective. Through six chapters, the author describes the common, physical and emotional spaces that this group of women inhabited during the long years of exile: we will accompany them since their flight from Spain, in the throes of the Civil War; We will witness their arrival in the countries that welcomed them and their establishment, always difficult, in strange lands where a struggle for survival was imposed on them that, in many cases, cut off their artistic yearnings, never their abilities or their longing for Spain. Last but not least, after several years dedicated to Las Sinsombrero, its author, from a greater maturity as a researcher and writer, will include in these pages the experience lived to date in relation to this entire project. The characters already treated, those who went into exile and those who did not, constantly wander in the story.
