While the bombs are falling in Syria, in Senegal hunger causes many to decide to go in search of a better future. Khaled flees with his family leaving behind the devastation that a war that has lasted too long has brought with it. Meanwhile, Mor embarks on a canoe in the hope of reaching the Canaries across the Atlantic. Khaled will soon discover that war is merciless, that it destroys everything and everyone. The only thing that will keep him going is his family. Mor will find other compatriots who will help him not to collapse and he will meet great people, but also others corroded by hatred who will endanger his life and that of those he loves most.
