No me tapes el sol
cómo ser un cínico de los buenos
Infante, Eduardo
Why so much cruelty with cynicism? Because the cynic committed the terrible sin of pointing the finger at idealism and shouting: "The king is naked!" Since then, the masters of philosophy ignore them, silence them, misrepresent them, caricature them or outright disqualify them so that their message is hidden. Plato defended the existence of an eternal, perfect and immaterial model of man to which we must submit. But Diogenes laughs at this theory and searches the streets of Athens with a flashlight in broad daylight for that ideal man. Plato defines the human being as "an animal with two feet and without feathers", and the scholars who listen to him admire his wisdom. Meanwhile Diogenes goes out into the street, takes a rooster, plucks its feathers, throws it on the floor of the elite school and says to Plato: "Here is your man". He refuses to debate with Diogenes and always treats him as crazy. From that moment on, idealists follow the attitude of the teacher. Don't cover the sun from me seeks to update the cynical philosophy as a lifeline to survive with freedom, sanity and dignity in a post-pandemic world that seems to be adrift.
