One hot summer night, eleven-year-old Mikey Driscoll doesn't come home from a football game. Two days later, the little boy's lifeless body appears in a flowerbed surrounded by wild flowers. For Inspector Lottie Parker, the case is personal: Mikey was friends with her son Sean. As the inspector begins to investigate, she soon discovers that her son is not telling her the whole truth, but she does not know who she is protecting or why. And everything gets complicated when they find the body of another murdered child, also surrounded by flowers. To catch the killer before he kills again, Lottie must work against the clock, because her own son could be the next victim in a city where everyone is hiding something.
