After the war ended, the Nazis escaped from Germany had the explicit and direct support of the Francoist authorities, or prominent men of the Falange, to escape from the Allied courts of justice. The Costa del Sol may have the dubious pride of having been a refuge and residence for famous Nazis. Some, fugitives without having been able to be tried in their country as perpetrators or directly responsible for horrible crimes; others, who were tried, but fled before serving their sentence. Virtually all continued to deny the crime of systematic genocide, planned and carried out by the Third Reich, and continued to enjoy the hospitality of the Regime while gilding their bodies on the shores of the Mediterranean.
