In the midst of a period of personal and literary transformation, the narrator of this novel begins to observe signs on doors and in adjoining rooms, symbols that connect Paris with Cascais, Montevideo, Reykjavík, San Gallen and Bogotá, and that are stealthily returning him to writing , to the desire to transform certain experiences into slices of life that, at the very least, cry out to be narrated.
