When Raymond Mathis receives a drug dealer call threatening the life of his drug-addicted son, he decides the time has come to make drastic decisions and help him one last time. The unlucky Denny Rattler has become a discreet petty thief with the sole objective of not attracting attention and to be able to pay for the next fix. On his side, agent Ron Holland, obsessed with his work, is willing to follow the weakest lead to reduce drug trafficking in the North Carolina area. In a beautiful but degraded region, devastated by constant fires, the destinies of these three men will be inextricably linked because of drugs.
