Monfragüe
Morales Ortiz, Javier
A travel writer returns to the Monfragüe National Park, in Cáceres, to write a book but, above all, to try to heal a wound. As a child he traveled to that park on a school field trip. There he met love, but also the setbacks of life. Raised in two narrative times, one in 1982 and the other in 2018, Monfragüe alternates both trips, that of childhood and that of adulthood. The novel, written in an intimate and sometimes poetic tone, addresses issues such as friendship, bullying, peer pressure, the loss of innocence or the healing power of writing. A story that invites us to a dialogue between the living and the dead and alerts us to what it means to lose our link with nature.
