"Who, in exile from his homeland, has also fled from himself?" Horace wondered. In Molts i ningú, Clara Ponsatí, far from running away, looks at herself and looks us in the face, and, with the firmness and sincerity that characterize her, she speaks to us bluntly. This bag of memories and other stories can be read as an autobiography: it is the chronicle of a very rich life and academic career and a political commitment over the years, and also the first-hand account of a decisive moment of the recent history -from the First of October to the European struggle of the exiles- that invites a reflection on the future. With a vivid evocation of her family memories, the author turns the narration of her present, her past and that of her family -starting with her great-grandparents- into a personal and collective self-portrait, and pays homage to the way 'understand, build and live this country of several generations through work, politics, school, culture and language.
