1968. Thanks to his tenacity, Amín has managed to turn his arid lands into a flourishing farm. He now belongs to a new bourgeoisie that prospers, organizes parties and has fun: he looks to the future with optimism. His wife Mathilde, on the other hand, all this material well-being fails to take away the certainty of having lost the best years of his life during the war and, later, taking care of the house and of Aicha and Selim, the children of he.
