Miradas sobre la ciudad

Solà-Morales i Rubió, Manuel de

The texts collected in this work, written between 1969 and 2011, offer an overview of the intellectual career of Manuel de Solà-Morales. The renowned architect and urban planner cultivated a fertile essay work in which he proposed new approaches to apparently outdated issues, often even uncritically despised, discriminating the different uses, conceptions, materials, systems and values that make up the city. In his various articles, contributions to anthological volumes, prologues, conferences, notes and other texts of various kinds, Solà-Morales forged an open and fragmentary interpretation of the urban phenomenon, sensitive to the times and uses of space, and attentive to the diversity of actors involved in its development; an extraordinary legacy that Acantilado is pleased to bring to readers thanks to this wide selection under the care of Oriol Clos.
