Miedo

Zweig, Stefan

Irene is a bourgeois, wealthy and boring woman. She finds herself in this state of apathy when, during one of those social evenings that are her only entertainment, she meets a young pianist who becomes her lover. However, visiting him on the sly soon becomes just another part of her routine... until a cunning and threatening woman discovers her infidelity and begins extorting money from her in exchange for her silence. From that moment on, Irene's tedious day-to-day turns into a life of secrets and fear that she doesn't know how long she can bear.
