Mi propio asesino
Hull, Richard
The narrator and protagonist of this novel is a London lawyer, "a young professional who wants to give an image of success" but who leads, despite himself, a "calm and monotonous" life. One cold night in March, he receives an unexpected visit from a friend and client at his house who confesses that he has just killed, initially unintentionally, his servant, who intended to blackmail him at the cost of his relationship with a married woman. After the initial shock, and learning that the police are already looking for him, the lawyer looks at "this spoiled child of the universe, this favorite of fortune" and begins to caress "the wonderful idea of molding with my own hands the life of a man". In the greatest detail he hatches an intricate plan to save him, with the collaboration of two women madly in love with the young assassin.
