Brighton, 1950. Since the first time she saw him, Marion has been in love with Tom, her best friend's brother. He will teach her how to swim, in the mornings on the beach, and Marion, completely enraptured, will be convinced that the love she feels is enough for both of them. A few years later, at the Brighton Art Museum, Patrick meets Tom, the handsome local policeman, and is introduced to the glamorous and sophisticated world of art and culture.
