Memorias de mí mismo
Torrent, Ferran
In the winter of 1968, three young workers with political convictions make a protest graffiti the night before the funeral of the mayor of the town, which will bring serious consequences. Nearby, in a small house in the middle of the sheet of water in the Valencian rice fields, a young forger of documents and paintings -who has not yet earned the nickname of Mythical Regino- receives an unexpected visit from the political police of the Franco regime. Both they and he act against a corrupt system, but from starting points seemingly far apart. However, the paths of these characters and many others will cross in this novel with more than one unexpected twist. The journalist Marc Sendra tries to reconstruct a puzzle where Nazi looting and the anti-Franco struggle also come together. As the masks fall, the story that emerges is as original as a good forgery, as authentic as the truth behind the established order.
