Liz Buxbaum has always known her neighbor Wes Bennett isn't boyfriend material. She might seem like he's the perfect candidate for her romantic fantasies, but the truth is that Wes has only proven to be a real nuisance since they were kids. Wes was the one who put a frog in his dollhouse and the little monster who hid the severed head of a garden gnome in his little neighborhood book exchange. Ten years later, Liz is in her senior year of high school. It's a time she should be riddled with big-screen goals and milestones, and she needs Wes's help. Michael, the guy she's had a crush on her whole life, just got back to town, and unfortunately he's hit it off with Wes. Which means, if Liz wants Michael to finally notice her and hopefully ask her out to the prom, she needs her neighbor from her. But as Liz and Wes begin to conspire to achieve her goal, she is shocked to discover that she actually likes spending time with him. And as they continue to grow closer, Liz must reexamine everything she thought she knew about love, and rethink her own ideas of what a "happily ever after" should look like.
