Maspeor

Matthew Aspeor is twelve years old, with no friends and an obsession with words. But he is happy in his quiet life, from home to school and from school to home. It just bothers him a little that his classmates have decided to nickname him Maspeor, a word that doesn't even appear in the dictionary, although he's not going to let that become a problem either... Everything changes in Matt's quiet life when his mother suffers a stroke and Iris, her aunt, moves into her house. With her, he also brings her cats, her art projects, her loud music, and her still-garish clothes. Totally lost and overwhelmed by the situation, Maspeor just wants to go back to how things were before his mother suffered the stroke. But he knows that it is impossible... Therefore, he will look for a refuge. And his lifeline will come in the form of a book club made up of kids just as obsessed with words as he is. Together with them, he will find the strength to leave behind the present that he hates so much and enter a future full of words that only he can write...
