Marwán, el hijo del refugiado
Alfaro, Víctor R.
This is the story of how the son of a Palestinian refugee and a teacher from Soria, after forging himself in the heat of the Madrid circuit of small venues, became a benchmark in contemporary songwriting, managing to reach crowds. In addition, his parallel fertile creativity in poetry has caused his books to reach sales figures unthinkable for any poet. After more than twenty years of frenetic activity, Marwán has established himself as one of the essential creators of music in Spanish. A careful lyricist and melodist, he knows how to freely approach genres that, apparently, are foreign to him. Likewise, his texts reflect contemporary life in songs that set our times. To prepare this first biography, the collaboration and complicity of Marwán himself, his family, friends and colleagues has been essential. A volume in which all his songs are analyzed and which is, in turn, a sincere tribute to a whole generation of singer-songwriters who have revitalized a musical genre that has already surpassed six decades of history in Spain.
