nola esan/izan bollera euskaraz

Linguistic hegemony in the Bollero community has broken down in recent years, and the political potential of Basque for militancy is acknowledged. In view of this, drawing on a proposal made by the Zinegoa association, the authors have analyzed how the axes of the Basque language and the lesbian community intersect. The book has been divided into four sections: on the one hand, a short dictionary or glossary, to see how the bollo community names itself in Basque; on the other hand, a consideration based on interviews with lesbo-feminist groups in the Basque Country, to find out what and how the crossings between the bolle community and the Basque language have been; thirdly, they have analyzed whether bolleras have been represented in Basque culture or arts and, if so, how; finally, they have collected the creations of Basque writers, musicians, illustrators, bertsolists and artists who work on the bolle. Thus, beyond the mere glossary of lesbian desire, this book aims to be a tool: by making a complete x-ray of the identity and linguistic practices of the Basque bolle, it aims to give light, voice and space to the diverse edges of the intersections of minoritized language and sexual dissent, for the sake of lesbian visibility.
