Marginàlia
Miralles i Broto, Joan Jordi
Marginality is the art of commenting, pointing and drawing in the margins of a book, to highlight everything that is in the text implicitly, but buried. Through this concept, Joan Jordi Miralles groups together three long narratives, written over a slow fire and strictly realistic. They are everyday stories that place the protagonists on the threshold of a moral border about to break, on the fine line that separates good intentions from unexpected results. Thus, in the first story, we see the suffocating day-to-day life of a widowed father during the harshest days of the pandemic, while in the second a lady with racial prejudice lives in fear of the changes her city is experiencing; finally, in the story that closes the volume, a retiree passionate about marginality and voyeurism will spend the night trapped in a haunting dead end.
