When we talk about the social, economic and cultural transformations of the digital revolution, we usually have to choose between utopian approaches (excessively naive and lacking in depth) and dystopian approaches (excessively pessimistic and closed to any novelty). In this essay-proposal of action, the authors propose an intermediate way, with which the left and progressivism can guide themselves to adapt to the digital revolution without vain illusions in the fundamental areas of our social life: how we consume, how we work, how we communicate, how we govern ourselves .
