Manifest per la lectura

A short manifesto for the promotion of reading commissioned by the Federation of Publishers' Guilds of Spain. Now that it is available to all readers, the author wishes that the copyright it generates be dedicated to supporting reading promotion projects and institutions. A pact for books and reading must be motivated by the inspiration to get citizens to find so much meaning in the act of reading that reading is a frequent experience in their lives. Measures and programs will always come after persuading of the meaning of the reading experience. For publishers, the values of reading are universal and eternal, and we wanted to vindicate them publicly in a kind of manifesto to defend and disseminate the reasons why we believe in books. This statement should nurture the vision of the pact we propose to our politicians.
