Maldita lechuza

Passing the course was yet to be seen. I say it because of the heat. Accustomed to the cold of Castile and with a body like mine, which is buttery and white like my mother's, the forty degrees was cruel. We must bear in mind that when we arrived in Seville in September, it was already winter in Valladolid and, on the other hand, it was sticky hot here. A sticky and sweet heat, the kind of fermented grape, that makes flies fat, makes them drunk and ends up following you everywhere. The flies are heavy and clumsy, just like the day they decided to come with me to the institute.
