Madrid sí fue una fiesta
la Movida y mucho más de la A a la Z
Menéndez Flores, Javier
In Spain, the arrival of democracy had the effect of a thousand springs and made people take to the streets to, in the words of the author of this book, "dance, drink, fly, fuck, live". Madrid became the nerve center of this great collective party, in which a series of artists from different disciplines coincided and formed, without any planning, a playful-cultural environment that received the name of Movida. The novelty of this volume resides in that it transcends the canonical contours of the Movida and its sacred cows -Almodóvar, Alaska, Radio Futura, Nacha Pop...- and, without forgetting them, it goes further. In such a way that in its pages many other names that were also there are collected and those other movements that happened while the official Movida were being developed are recounted. Rich in data, curiosities and brimming with irony, in Madrid it was a party, the attributes of that period of our recent history are detailed, from the figures -musicians, actors, filmmakers, painters, poets, photographers, designers, journalists, politicians- to the stages -concert halls, bars- through publications, television programs, objects, customs and narcotic substances. An altarpiece of great wealth for its variety and for the contributions that, in imperishable years, all its protagonists made to our popular culture.
