Madera de eucalipto quemada
un relato sobre los orígenes y las identidades
Domingo, Ennatu
Burnt eucalyptus wood immerses us in the unforgettable experiences of a seven-year-old girl in rural Ethiopia in the early 2000s before being adopted by a Catalan family. Already as an adult, she continues to wonder why the living conditions of the rural Ethiopian population of which she was a part of as a child -especially those of women-, at the same time that she analyzes how one lives with more than one identity and what it means lose and recover the language of childhood. The richness of the author's testimony can help deconstruct the paternalistic and Eurocentric visions that still prevail today, bringing the reader closer to the author's nomadism and making him travel with her through the different interspersed narrative levels. Burnt eucalyptus wood is one of those texts that are read in one sitting; necessary and essential to understand our world.
