Los pobres

Los pobres

Alcaraz, Felipe

All cities have a side B. On the other side of the official image, or tourist, if you will, there is a world that is not easily shown. And Sanlúcar is no exception. It exists, but is rarely seen. A B-side that fights in its own way against oblivion and marginalization. This novel is the humble epic of the details of that way of behaving. The absolute disappearance of the poor is consummated during the days of the pandemic. But in the midst of the pandemic, the poor, or the new heroes, hidden until that moment, do not stop showing their flags, and that is why the roofs and balconies appear populated with sheets, towels, kitchen towels, T-shirts, panties, socks... They are the real state flags of the simple people, as opposed to the official state flags, and this is their story.
