Los miedos
Blanco-Amor, Eduardo
Peral Vega, Emilio
(ed.)
In "Los miedos" (1963) by Eduardo Blanco-Amor, a learning novel, we witness the story of the adventures of Pedro Pablo Valdouro "Peruco", a child without parental references and sheltered under the protective wing of his grandmother who, about facing adolescence, and surrounded by other kids of his age, it is necessary, as a means of chasing away summer boredom, to invent games and challenges with which to feel afraid. A work of incontrovertible quality, it nevertheless suffered a stubborn boycott due not only to the manifest homoeroticism reflected in some of its pages, but also to the public homosexuality of its author. This critical edition aims to make the novel available to the public again, placing it not only in its historical and literary context, but also within the framework of a work that is among the most outstanding of Spanish and Galician literature of the last century.
