Los lirios del sol
Lasala, Magdalena
At the end of the 18th century, Carlos IV lived in real fear that a revolution like the French one would break out in Spain that would wrest him from power. The enlightened clashed against the immobility of his monarchy and against the dominance still exercised by the Inquisition. A woman, Teresa de Vallabriga, has returned to her native Zaragoza to rebuild her life. In the past, she was despised and feared by her brother-in-law, King Carlos III of hers, who sent her into exile along with her husband, the Infante Luis de Borbón. She already a widow, she returns to the city where she was born. There she, together with other women destined to preserve the sacred knowledge of Freemasonry, will create Los Lirios del Sol to try to achieve the Enlightenment ideal of female education. Together they will discover the hidden science in the language of the Tarot and the esoteric legacy that the city keeps. However, her school will be as misunderstood as Teresa herself was at the royal court.
