"I haven't asked him who he is, but rather his favorite literary genre." This is how thirty-three-year-old Max is welcomed into a cold and austere administrative building. Not knowing what to answer, he is sent to the office of his late French teacher, Mrs. Schmidt, who announces that he has just died in a car accident. He is not in Paradise, nor in Purgatory, but in the Inspiratory, and he has to choose a literary genre. Thus he will inspire an author on Earth who will transform him into a novel character. That way he will live forever. Shocked by his sudden death, Max has more questions than answers. He is what he calls an "undecided." However, he must hurry: he only has twenty-four hours to make the most important decision of... his second life!
