Los conservadores y la revolución
Delgado-Gal, Álvaro
The revolutionary ideologues of 1789, heirs of the Age of Enlightenment, were progressive, rationalist, voluntaristic and, at least initially, individualistic. That's where we come from, point above, point below. At the same time that the revolution was declared, the fight against the revolution was declared. Modern conservatism, both in its first form and throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, constitutes a reaction against the rationalism, voluntarism and idealism of progressives. Delgado-Gal gives an account of the different branches of conservative thought and goes to philosophy, literature and art in an attempt to simultaneously analyze two worlds: that of the revolution, and that of the counterrevolution.
