Los cinco misterios de Andy África

Buoro, Stephen

Andrew Aziza is a fifteen-year-old boy with unusual intelligence. He lives in Kontagora, in northern Nigeria, with his protective mother, Gloria. Like any other teenager, hormones prevent him from thinking about anything other than girls (especially white, blonde girls). Only when he's not in church, at school, or hanging out with two somewhat problematic friends, does he spend his wits pondering the big questions of the universe in the company of Zahrah, his teacher, and Fatee, an equally brilliant friend. the one that unites him with something more than a simple friendship. Inevitably, Andy ends up falling in love with the first white girl he meets: Eileen, Father McMahon's niece. But at the welcome party celebrating his arrival in Kontagora, multiple crises break out. On the one hand, an unknown man claims to be Andy's father. On the other hand, an anti-Christian mob has gathered and is heading to the church. In the chaos that happens and the consequences of it, Andy will be forced to reflect on his identity and his aspirations, and to think about how to live on the so-called Cursed Continent.
