Prehistoric peoples, African tribes, Berber, Arab, Roman, Jewish and Christian merchants carved out Extremadura over thousands of years, which today surprises visitors in every corner of its geography. Its capitals overflow with a heritage full of prehistoric dolmens, Roman theatres, Almohad fortresses, ostentatious palaces and solemn monasteries overlooking the void, but this is not a community of populous cities but of privileged paradises that see the light in small towns (white to the south and mountains to the north), riverbanks, valleys, gorges, mountains and meadows.
