November 1944. A Luftwaffe bomb is about to hit the city of London, truncating, in a single instant, the lives of five children. November 1944. That bomb never hits its target. A tiny portion of time has been altered, and the lives of these five children continue their course, entering the profound changes that shaped the second half of the 20th century.
