What can happen in a spa where an ex-girlfriend, a vampire apprentice and the musician Claude Debussy meet? This is the imaginative and provocative approach of the short novel "Lubovsky or Reason", which opens the volume entitled Book of Preludes, complete with three more stories: "Nocturne", "Violin Blood" and "All the Water of the sky", linked by the presence of music as a transforming power. In the pages of the book we will see characters and scenes familiar to the readers of Jaume Cabré, such as the master composer Bruguera, Adela Turmeda, the city of Feixes or the convent of La Ràpita, present in the novels La teranyina and Fra Junoy or the agony of sounds. The short story is no exception in the work of Cabré, who made his debut with this genre and has never stopped cultivating it, alongside the great internationally celebrated novels.
