Llámame Teresa
Alòs, Anna R.
1900-2008. A series of conditions lead Treseta, a girl from rural Lleida, to become a novice first and then a prostitute, turning her pleasure into her new way of life. Her name will change to Teresita when she arrives in Buenos Aires, to end up calling herself Teresa again in Spain. At the same time, the lives of other women pass by: Lolita, very young pregnant by a relative; Dorotea, in love with a cold and distant husband; Verónica, subjected to a torture that marks her days. All of them survive the circumstances and approach their lives from different angles: pleasure, love, cynicism and friendship. Her days follow the sway of historical episodes such as unionism, the Great War, the Spanish civil war that Teresa resists in the Cerdanya valley, World War II, the end of the Franco dictatorship. Someone finds some messy notebooks and Candela, a journalist, an indirect descendant of Teresa, is commissioned to write her stories. For five years she dedicates herself to it and disrupts her own life.
