Salvador Togores, a literary translator, travels to Switzerland to stay in a residence for translators, just on the first anniversary of the death of his father. There, by surprise, he will meet the famous writer Bachtel, disappeared from circulation for many years and a cult author. At one time, Markus Bachtel had been close friends with the Togores family, especially his father, but the relationship was abruptly and painfully broken. Over a series of nights, Bachtel, like a modern Sherezade, reveals the incredible story of his life and the reason for his escape and disappearance.
