Gagnon, Alain-G.

Inspired by the works that Native Peoples and Minorities deal with in a democratic context, Alain-G. Gagnon offers a fresh look at majority-minority relations while examining theoretical advances in both federal studies and contemporary nationalism. The 2020-2030s could be the right decade to create a multinational federalism at the international level. In view of the growing discomfort experienced by the great powers and international organizations in the face of the creation of new states, the study of multinational federalism is of utmost importance at this time. In return for the loyalty shown by the minority nations to the sovereign state, multinational federalism would allow them to recover -or restore- their original sovereignty, as long as they consider that they need to coordinate and contract with their political partners, and that they have to live with them in federal structures or those that are on the way to federalization.
