Las víctimas del terrorismo de extrema izquierda en España
del DRIL a los GRAPO (1960-2006)
Ladrón de Guevara Pascual, Carmen
Did you know that GRAPO have murdered 93 people in Spain, becoming the third deadliest terrorist organization in Europe? Or that in our country they have assassinated up to a total of 14 terrorist groups inspired by nationalism and/or the extreme left? Do you know the names of the 120 fatalities murdered at the hands of these groups? This book, promoted by the Victims of Terrorism Memorial Center Foundation, aims to answer these and other questions. In addition, it tries to be a contribution to the study of the terrorist phenomenon and approach it from its most unknown acronyms. Most of them, except in the case of the GRAPO whose criminal activity lasted until 2006, acted during the last years of the Franco regime and in the subsequent ones, corresponding to the Transition period. This temporary circumstance caused most of them to be sold, and continue to be sold, as movements that emerged in opposition to the dictatorship, whose militants would be the architects of the arrival of Democracy and our system of freedoms. But not only was this not the case, but its existence posed a real threat to the process of democratic transition, attempting to condition political evolution with the systematic use of violence. In these pages, the study of these groups is done from the perspective of those who have always remained in oblivion: their victims. A work that tries to settle an outstanding debt with them. If in the case of the victims of ETA the tendency is towards oblivion, in the case of these others the general ignorance as martyrs of terrorism is added.
