Las rosas olvidadas
Kelly, Martha Hall
In 1914, Eliza Ferriday, a socialite from New York, travels to Saint Petersburg with her friend Sofya, a cousin of the Romanovs, the dynasty that controls the destiny of Russia. When Austria declares war on Serbia and the decline of the Russian imperial dynasty begins, Eliza manages to return to her home, while Sofya and her family flee the violence that has taken over the streets and settle in field. As they need help with the housework, they hire a young maid, Varinka, without being aware of the danger that she represents. After the arrival in the United States of Russian citizens fleeing the Bolshevik Revolution, Eliza does what she can to help them, and, when she stops receiving letters from her friend Sofya, she begins to fear the worst.
