Las mejores mentes de mi generación

historia literaria de la Generación Beat

Ginsberg, Allen

The Beat Generation was a group of young people who led a revolution on two fronts: inspiring the North American rebellious movement of the late sixties and proposing a radical transformation of the literary style. Its most prominent representatives were seen as prophets of the upheavals that reflected the deep malaise of North American culture while at the same time they did not stop working with the conviction that new forms of expression had to be found. This "Beat Generation Literary History" course, transcribed and edited by Bill Morgan, Ginsberg's personal archivist, traces the movement's history with erudition and grace, dedicating extensive chapters to figures such as Kerouac, William S. Burroughs, Gregory Corso , John Clellon Holmes, Peter Orlovsky, Carl Solomon and himself, pointing out in each case the aesthetic interests and the poetic theory on which they were based.
